We took the short drive on 395 to Bishop, California.
After calling 4 campgrounds we finally got a spot at Brown’s Town Campground. The electricity was a very weak 30 amp and it was starting to get busy so we left.
We traveled a few miles to the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds. Ironically, the Ventura Motorcycle Group (both of us lived in Ventura many years ago) was coming in later in the week and had booked the whole Fairgrounds So we stayed in the Boondock area, with full hookups for one night.
From the Fairgrounds we traveled only a few miles to J. Diamond Mobile Ranch. This place was really nice; a little tight but other things made up for it. It was right behind Schatt’s Bakery, right down the street from Starbucks, best WiFi we have come across on our travels, good Verizon, and quiet. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We were only going to stay 3 days ($40 a night) but decided to stay four ($120.00).
We left Bishop and drove 57 miles to Lone Pine, California. We had intended to stay a week at Boulder Creek RV Park, but decided to stay only 2 days. We didn’t get the site we reserved but we had one that was OK.
From Lone Pine we drove back to Jojoba. We will return to Boulder Creek RV Park for our Annual Thanksgiving Camping.
When were you in Bishop? I just got home on Wednesday. I’d been gone for three weeks and spent most of my time in Bishop. I went up to June Lake and intended to go to Tahoe but it was 13 degrees on my third night at June and I went back to Bishop for the rest of my trip.
