We left Susanville and continued on our travels on 395. Our next stop was at Bordertown Casino and RV Park, outside of Reno. The spots were very big and the wifi and Verizon was good. We stayed here two days.
Our next drive on 395 took us to the 84 and Gold Ranch RV Park. This park was very quiet, and good sized sites. While here we drove to Tahoe City to meet fellow Jojobians Judy and Ed Stuart who are hosting at a NFS campground in the area. We met them for a Happy Hour at a great local place. We stayed at this campground for two days.
From this campground we drove on the 580 to the 395 to Lake Washoe State Park. This was a first come/first served campground and we arrived early Monday morning and got a great site. We were deciding where to go next and enjoyed this place so much we stayed six days.
The weather was great, and we drove over 600 miles checking out this area, Washoe City, Carson City, and all other areas, looking for the place we might want to settle when we stop full-timing.
Our next travel on the 395 South was to Silver City RV Park. This campground was nice, clean and expensive – $60.00. Unfortunately one of the workers had a big dog that started barking every morning at 6:30 and then continued all day whenever someone walked by. This dog was left in a fenced area, unattended, and no one ever stopped the barking. Thus we would never stay here again.
Next post will continue our travels in Sparks, Nevada.
