From Waco we drove directly to Nacogdoches where we were going to get service on our Foretravel at Motorhomes of Texas. We arrived the Friday before Easter and pulled into their camping area. Our service appointment was the Monday after Easter. Since the rig has been in the shop from morning to late afternoon, we waited in their very nice waiting room and visited with other owners. Each day we had to buy lunch so we went to Chick-fil-a twice, Newks, CC’s Smokehouse – all very good.
On Easter Sunday we drove around the town and went out to Lake Nacogdoches. It’s shoreline is hard to get to since there are all privately owned homes along it.
On Saturday, we were told about a barbeque competition that was set up as a benefit for the Boys and Girls Club. So we went over to check it out. The cost was $10 a person and that included all the water you want, 3 beers/wine coolers, and ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage from at least 30 participants, who represented different businesses in the area. It was great fun and we met a lot of nice people.
Since I don’t drink beer, I tried one of their wine cocktails. This was one I had never heard of but it was really good on a hot day. It was called Rita’s Rose Spritz – White Peach. It is new from Anheuser Busch.
On Sunday we went to lunch at this really cool place in downtown Nacogdoches – Clear Springs Restaurant. Both of us had their “world famous onion rings” and fish and chips. Delicious!!!!!
We have been here at Motorhomes of Texas for 9 days; tomorrow we will head over to Xtreme Paint and Graphics to get a place fixed on the exterior of the rig.
