Wall Drugs and Beyond

We arrived in Wall, SD and checked into the Sleepy Hollow RV Park, which was a basic campground with electric and water.  The good thing about it was we could walk over to Wall Drugs.  What a place!!!  Lots of stores, 5 cent coffee, free ice water. daily homemade donuts, and LOTS of people.  Very interesting story of how this Drug Store was started in 1931 and has continued to grow ever since.

The next morning we got up and traveled through the Badlands National Park, SD.  Very beautiful and strange rock formations.

After finishing the Badlands drive, we went to a very interesting site off the 90.  It was the Minuteman Missile Delta 09 Launch Facility (Missile Silo).  This area was where the Minuteman Missiles were stationed, in hidden bunkers,  during the Cold War.

Lots of history on this day’s drive.  Tonight we are at the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City, SD.  Got our car and motorhome re registered today, for the next 12 months.

We will be at Hart Ranch, SD for the next 3 days, with friends Murray/Nancy Procter, CJ/Art Walker, and Ken Sorenson/Carole Cudmore.

More postings later as we head into Colorado.
