We arrived in Sedalia, MO, on May 23 and began our duty as Customer Service Team Leaders the very next day.
We did customer service from the 24th until the 27th when the Escapade officially began. The first night was Opening Ceremony.
Jojoba was well represented with a booth in the Row.
We went to lots of classes and great entertainment. One evening an illusionist name Reza performed. John was called to stage to help him with one of his unbelievable tricks.
One night was the Talent Show and CJ Walker represented Jojoba in a fantastic way doing a Zumba routine with two Xscaper moms.
While there we joined in a celebration of Dave Brannam’s birthday. CJ and Art supplied the cake and beverages.
The Escapade ended on June 1st, but we left Sedalia on the June 2nd because I took a 2-day driving school to learn how to drive our new Class A. While I was taking my driving class, John worked both days helping with the Smart Weigh. He worked 7:30 am to 2:30 pm daily and it was sweltering and humid.
After leaving Sedalia we drove to Hamilton, MO so I could go to the Missouri Star Quilt Store and what a neat experience that was. I don’t think the town would even survive without Missouri Star Quilt. They have 14 stores in the block. I also found the sign that it was the Boyhood Home of J.C. Penney, where I worked as an 18 year old.
Tonight we are staying in St. Joseph, MO, at a Passport America campground called Sharp RV Park, Full hookups with 50 amp electricity and very quiet.
Next post will be from South Dakota.
