Boomtown Trail

The next day we headed out for the start of the Boomtown Trail which starts at New Sarepta and ends close to Calgary.  We spent the night at  Miquelon Provincial Park, which was a 188 mile drive from Whitney Lakes.  The group site we were in had hookups, showers, and an enclosed meeting area with fire place.  The only negative about the place were the mosquitos!!!!  We decided to have a potluck that night and everyone brought delicious food to share.  Early in the evening the rain started and it lasted into the night.  The campground is located on the south shore of Miquelon Lake which is good for swimming because the high salinity makes the water very clear and keeps the algae down.  I’m sure this is a very busy campground on the weekend because of its close proximity to Edmonton.
