Leaving Jasper we drove 228 miles to the Glowing Embers RV Park, in Edmonton. Along the way we stopped at the Beaver Boardwalk in Hinton, and of course, a Starbucks. The Beaver Boardwalk travels through wetlands and forests. West Fraser Mills Ltd. initiated the project in 2007 to commemorate the 50th anniversaries of West Fraser and the town of Hinton. Over three kilometers of boardwalk were built by volunteers with generous support from sponsoring organizations and individuals. I saw a beaver swimming under the water, but they say early morning or late afternoon you will see many more.
After arriving at the Glowing Embers RV Park, Jim M. drove us to the West Edmonton Mall, and what an amazing place that is. There is every imaginable store, 2 food courts and Bourbon Street that has many familiar sit down restaurants. There is an ice skating rink, water park, miniature golf, amusement park, Pirates of the Caribbean boat, and a water show – all within this mall. I think I heard the mall is 48 acres.
